Review by Ms Eady, Area Manager - Holme Valley

Following on from our guitarists' amazing performance with Craig Ogden at the recent Biennale Finale we were pleased to given the opportunity to share the stage with this acclaimed guitarist once again as part of his Big Guitar Weekend Jamboree at the Bridgewater Hall on January 27.

Musica Holme Valley and Musica Colne Valley Guitars and their teachers were joined by over 100 guitarists in a massed intergenerational orchestra to perform alongside the stunning Aquarelle Guitar Quartet and Callum Dewar, professional bass player and composer who wrote yet another inspired piece - 'Manchester' - for us to play. Craig led us expertly through a brilliant rehearsal to learn the three movement piece (Cotton, Rain and Club ) in readiness for an exhilarating performance to the public. We were then lucky enough to hear the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet perform a short concert of their own.

Matthew said "It was fun! It was an exciting piece that showed the many aspects of Manchester" and Evelyn commented " I feel really motivated by it all and inspired."

The smiles at the end of the performance spoke a thousand words. We are very proud of our guitarists and everything they have achieved.
